I. CALL TO WORSHIP
Call and Response:
Leader: Church, lift up your eyes and open your hearts— You have not come to a mountain of smoke and fear. You have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, to the heavenly Jerusalem.
Congregation: We have come to join the worship of heaven, to gather with angels in festal joy, with the church of the firstborn, enrolled in glory.
Leader: We have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than Abel.
Congregation: We come not in fear but in faith, not in shame but in confidence, not to perform, but to be transformed.
Leader: So come—let us worship the Living God. Let us behold His glory, confess our sins, receive His Word, feast at His table, and be sent in His power.
All: For we have come to Mount Zion— And Jesus Himself welcomes us here.

II. CONFESSION
Individual Call: Psalm 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!
Corporate Call:
Lord, with the Apostle Paul, we are compelled to confess, “Oh, wretched man that I am, who will deliver me from this body of death?” we are in need of deliverance for we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed; Not only in outward transgressions, but also in secret thoughts and desires that we are unable fully to understand, but which are all known to you.
Lord, this body of death swiftly rebels against your grace. We have raced toward the evil desires of the flesh. We have embraced impatience. And we have allowed envy and greed to possess our affections. Oh Lord, with David, we confess, “Against you and you only have we sinned.” Oh Lord, we are in need of your grace.
For this reason, we run for refuge to your infinite mercy, seeking and imploring your forgiveness and deliverance through our Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Response: Father, forgive us.
III. ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Arise and hear the good news!
Church, your prayers have not failed, for your confession has ascended to the Father’s right hand, where the Great High Priest has now interceded on your behalf.
The Almighty God, the maker of heaven and earth, the risen and ascended Christ, has achieved all there is to accomplish to fully redeem, renew, and restore you who have fallen into sin.
Beloved, though your sins are great, the grace of God is far greater! For where sin abounds, grace abounds all the more. For King Jesus has come to conquer all that would keep you in the grip of death. Jesus has transformed you from a slave to sin to be a son of God. Jesus has taken you from the dungeon of guilt to the throne of grace. He has clothed you with his righteous garments and now presents you fully vindicated in the presence of God.
Church, This is good news! So lift up your hearts and hear these words and know, your redeemer has redeemed you, your savior has saved you, your King has declared with his mighty voice, your sins are forgiven!
Response: Thanks be to God!
